On the eve of the annual General Meeting of ALROSA shareholders, the company’s President Sergey Ivanov visited the industrial facilities of the Nyurba Mining Division, one of the most modern mining and processing plants of the company.
The Nyurba Mining Division began operations in 2003 and currently is developing the diamond field located in the Nyurba Municipality of Yakutia: the Nyurbinskaya and Botuobinskaya diamond pipes, as well as diamond placers of the same name.
More than 1,500 people work at the Nyurba integrated plant. In 2016, it produced 6.793 million carats of rough diamonds, which accounted for 18% of the total diamond output of the ALROSA Group.
The President of ALROSA visited the main facilities of the mining division: the open pits, carpool, repair base and oil storage.
He also got acquainted with the work of Concentrating Plant No. 16, where the ore and sands coming from the Nyurba Mining Division are processed, paying attention to the high level of technologies used there and the scale of production processes automation. Thanks to the modernization of the production park, downtime and fuel consumption were reduced.
"ALROSA is facing important tasks related to the introduction of modern technologies, increasing efficiency and reducing costs at all stages of the production process. The Nyurba Mining Division in this regard is one of the most advanced industrial sites of the company," the President of ALROSA said summing up his visit.
