Earlier the Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Ecology of Russia Rinat Gizatulin, who was in charge of the environmental department from 2011, was relieved from his post, and will soon become a vice president of ALROSA, he said in an interview with RIA Novosti.
Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev relieved Gizatulin from his post on December 23.
Previously, he served as head of the department of state policy on environmental protection.
"Now is the time to apply the experience earned in the field of environmental policy and to implement all previously adopted legislative initiatives in the business structure. It is planned that I continue to work as a vice-president of ALROSA. I am sure this will be an interesting experience," – Gizatulin said.
According to him, ALROSA has yet to unveil its full potential capacity in terms of improving its environmental performance as well as in other areas, including improving profitability, social orientation of business, and diamond manufacturing in Russia.
"There is no doubt the company may extend its operations in Russia. We may become a driver for dozens and hundreds of new manufacturers in our country. I am sure the new management team led by Andrei Zharkov can do that," – Gizatulin added.
